I think, even with authentic voices, there will be an issue with public trust in newer published works. And there is also the morally grey area of having your work inspired by AI prompts rather than just copying and pasting essays generated by chatGPT. There is definitely nuance to this discussion and your article is a great start 🥲

it definitely deserves to be discussed more in depth and it’s so hard to say what’s ethically right / wrong except for anything that’s straight up stealing 🫠 it’s a topic full of grey areas. thank you for reading!!

Couldn't agree with this more!! Lots of my professors in my MFA are currently in a class action lawsuit against ChatGPT for stealing their work to train its genAI models. It's absolutely crazy to think that these people who dedicated their lives to honing and perfecting their craft and teaching others to do the same have had their work stolen so blatantly. Thank you for writing this!!
